Pre-ADM Meeting:Building Trust, Strengthening Leadership

The room was filled with anticipation as delegates, ministry representative, board members, and management gathered for the Pre-Annual Delegates Meeting (Pre-ADM). Conversations buzzed with ideas, expectations, and a shared sense of responsibility. This was more than a routine meeting it was a moment to reaffirm leadership, strengthen governance, and prepare for the important decisions ahead at the upcoming ADM.

A Moment of Confirmation

The meeting officially began with a declaration from the Ministry representative,Dennis Muthoka, confirming that the delegates had been duly elected unopposed. This announcement signaled the completion of the nomination process and affirmed that the selected delegates had met all the required governance procedures.

Transparency at the Center: Understanding the Vetting Process

To ensure clarity and confidence in the process, legal counsel Advocate Kilonzi took the floor to explain how the vetting process was conducted. He outlined how nominees were carefully reviewed to ensure they met all governance requirements before being confirmed.

“The vetting process exists to protect the integrity of the institution,” he explained. “Every requirement must be met to ensure that leadership remains accountable and credible.”

His explanation reinforced an important principle: good governance begins with transparent processes.

The CEO’s Message: Commitment Builds Strong Institutions

The CEO addressed the delegates with a practical reminder: strong institutions are built on financial discipline and active participation. He clarified the key requirements expected from members and leaders within the organization.

“These requirements are not obstacles,” the CEO emphasized. “They are the foundation that keeps our institution stable and strong.”

Delegates as Ambassadors

One of the most inspiring moments of the meeting came from the Vice Chairperson,Dr. Kisinga, who reminded delegates that their responsibility goes beyond attending meetings.Delegates, he said, are also ambassadors of the organization. They are the ones who interact directly with members and communities. Their words, actions, and experiences influence how others perceive the institution.

“We sell trust. We sell value.”

With a phrase that quickly resonated around the room, he added:

“Mbesa iendaa kelele.”

In simple terms, the message was clear: when an institution delivers real value, its reputation spreads naturally.Delegates were encouraged to champion the organization in their communities and help expand its reach through positive engagement and trust.

Ministry Guidance: The Role of Delegates

The Ministry representative also shared valuable insights about the responsibilities of delegates.Delegates serve as a bridge between members and leadership, ensuring that communication flows in both directions.

Their responsibilities include:

  • Representing the concerns and interests of members

  • Communicating important organizational updates

  • Participating in governance and decision-making

  • Promoting transparency and accountability

However, the role also comes with challenges. Delegates must balance the expectations of members with the strategic priorities of the institution.Strong communication, integrity and dedication are therefore essential.

A Chairman’s Call for Unity

As the meeting came to a close, the Chairman offered words of encouragement and reflection. He thanked all participants for their engagement and reminded everyone that the strength of the organization lies in unity and collaboration.

“Our success depends on how well we work together,” he said. “When members, delegates, and leadership move in the same direction, growth becomes inevitable.”

He encouraged delegates to remain committed to their roles and continue supporting members as the organization prepares for the upcoming Annual Delegates Meeting.

Looking Ahead

The Pre-ADM meeting laid a strong foundation for the Annual Delegates Meeting, where important decisions will shape the future of the institution.By confirming delegates, reinforcing governance processes, and inspiring leadership, the meeting reminded everyone of what truly drives progress: trust, participation, and shared responsibility.

As delegates return to their communities, they carry a message that echoes beyond the meeting room:

Strong leadership begins with service, and growth begins with trust.

And as the Vice Chairperson put it best:

“Mbesa iendaa kelele.”
When value is delivered, the message travels far.
